释义	【古今韻會舉要】〈社〉常者切。說文地主也从示土引左傳共工之子句龍為社神。一曰周禮二十五家為社各樹其土所宜之木又禮記祭法王為羣姓立社曰大社又詩以社以方注疏社者五土之神能生萬物者以古之有大功者配之共工氏有子句龍為后土能平水土故祀以為社后土官名故世人謂社為后土杜預曰在家則主中霤在野則為社《白虎通》社土也人非土不立故封土立社示有土也又禮記兩社注疏魯之外朝在庫門内東亳社西國社朝廷執政之處故云間于兩社又漢昭五年兖州刺史洪賞禁民私所自立社注薛瓚曰二十五家為一社而民或五家十家共為田社是私社也。
