释义	【說文解字】〈碑〉豎石也。从石卑聲。府眉切。臣鍇按：古宗廟立碑以繋牲耳，非石也。後人因於其上紀功德，則此從石碑字。秦以來製也或難。臣曰：「古七十二家封禪勒石便應有碑，何以言秦以來有碑？」臣應之曰：「古雖七十二家封禪勒石，不言碑。七十二家之言，起于管仲，不言碑。《穆天子傳》曰：『天子乃紀丌迹於弇山石上。』亦不言碑。」又難曰：「劉熈《釋名》何以言起於縣棺之碑？」臣對曰：「起於縣棺者，蓋今之神道碑而銘勒功德，當始于宗廟麗牲之碑也。」
